Tongue twisters are fun with twisty words 🗣️
Take this one: “She sells seashells by the seashore.” It sounds simple until you try to say it five times in a row! Or “How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?” These silly phrases make your tongue dance and strengthen your mouth muscles.
Not only children, even professionals— actors, singers, and public speakers use them to warm up before performances. For learners, repeating them can reduce pronunciation mistakes and increase confidence in speaking. They also help us recognize the difference between similar sounds like /s/ and /sh/.
You can also make up your own tongue twisters by using words that start with the same sound. Try to make one with your name! It's a fun classroom or group activity.
Behind the scenes :-The tongue twister activities were really hilarious. I did them with my friends, and together we had a wonderful time with the tongue twister game, laughing all the time. It didn't only stick to the hilarious part, but it was also an amazing practice activity that helps with pronunciation.
